Community Health Systems Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician in Bentonville, Arkansas


Performs manual and automated routine blood tests. Prepares specimens for microscope examination. Operates laboratory equipment including centrifuges, dry bath incubators, and blood bank refrigerators. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to supervisor or manager.


Medical Technologist:

Requires Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution; or passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency examination approved by HHS (HEW)

Medical Lab Technician:

Requires Associate Degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical laboratory technology; or high school diploma or equivalent AND have successfully completed an official military medical laboratory procedures course of at least 50 weeks duration and have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician);
