Community Health Systems Bio Med Supervisor in Birmingham, Alabama
Oversees work order control, PM schedules and generation; parts purchase request and equipment history records. Assists with staff training, in-services, policy and procedures, regulatory compliance and software data management. Establishes and maintains supporting technical literature, such as manufacturer s literature, references standards, specifications and other documents necessary for supporting the Biomedical Program. Performs preventive maintenance, safety tests, incoming inspections, installation, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, for all patient care equipment. Serves as an advisor to appropriate hospital committees. Demonstrates cost-effective decision making skills. Performs all other duties assigned.
Education: Associate s Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or military medical repair specialist school or equivalent electronic training and experience, required.
Experience: Concepts and techniques in solving complex technical problems as would be acquired by 5 years of industry experience with at least 3 years hospital experience required. Working familiarity with JCAHO accreditation standards preferred.
Licenses/Certificates: Possession of a valid driver s license. Certification by the International Certification Commission is preferred.
