Community Health Systems Sleep Technologist- FT in Birmingham, Alabama
Operates specialized equipment which measures and records electrical activity of the brain, peripheral nervous system, and spinal cord. Assists in the analysis and diagnosis of disorders in the brain and nervous system such as brain tumors, sleep disorders, strokes and epilepsy. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Typically reports to supervisor or manager.
Education required :
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in polysomnography OR Successful completion of a polysomnography program of no less than one year duration associated with a state licensed &/or nationally accredited educational facility OR equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a polysomnographic technician.

Experience required :
Minimum of one year experience in polysomnography. Clinical experience in respiratory care &/or neuroscience may substitute at ½ rate with experience in polysomnography with documented proficiency at all competencies required of a PSG technician.
Licenses/Certificates required :
Current active status as R-PSGT, &/or RRT, &/or R-EEGT.
Maintains current training in Basic Life Support (BLS)
