Community Health Systems Sleep Tech Non Registered, Full Time in Enterprise, Alabama
The Polysomnographic Technician is responsible for performing standard polysomnographic procedures in the assessment of physiologic functions during sleep in patients of all age groups from neonate to geriatric. Scoring of recorded data and compilation of reports for review and interpretation by the physician also included, as well as any other duties as deemed necessary. Interpersonal skills are required to communicate effectively with all customers. Verbal and written communication skills are required. Analytical skills are necessary to resolve minor problems, seek out answers to questions, organize workloads according to priorities and evaluate information. Organizational skillsare necessary to balance and complete a variety of activities simultaneously. Physician interaction is required concerning patients, problems, or other issues. Must maintain a safe work environment. Must maintain a quiet environment while patients are sleeping. Must remain awake and alert at all times throughout the night, with no issues with attendance or tardiness. Must always provide the highest level of patient care. May be required to work additional overnight shifts in times of staff shortage. Shifts are usually Sunday night through Tuesday night, Wednesday night through Friday night or Friday night though Sunday Night. Shifts are subject to change depending on the needs of the center.
Minimum high school graduate required.
Graduate of an AMA approved program for Respiratory Therapy preferred.
Graduate of the School of Sleep Medicine preferred.
Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS).
RPSGT or RST required or must obtain RPSGT credentials within 18 months of hiring date.
- Minimum of one year experience as a polysomnographic technologist or Respiratory Therapist.
