Community Health Systems Collector Specialist II (A/R) in Sarasota, Florida


  • 1.--{PS..0}Responsible for all aspects of follow up and collections, includingmaking telephone calls, accessing payer websites. 2.--{PS..1}Identify issues or trending and provide suggestions for resolution. 3.--{PS..2}Accurately and thoroughly documents the pertinent collection activityperformed. 4.--{PS..3}Review the account information and necessary system applications todetermine the next appropriate work activity. 5.--{PS..4}Verify claims adjudication utilizing appropriate resources andapplications.6.--{PS..5}Initiate telephone or letter contact to patients to obtain additionalinformation as needed. 7.--{PS..6}Perform appropriate billing functions, including manual re-bills as wellas electronic submission to payers. 8.--{PS..7}Edit claims to meet and satisfy billing compliance guidelines forelectronic submission. 9.--{PS..8}Manage and maintain desk inventory, complete reports, and resolve highpriority and aged inventory.10.--{PS..9}Participate and attend meetings, training seminars and in-services todevelop job knowledge.11.--{PS..10}Participate in the monthly, quarterly and annual performance evaluationprocess with their Supervisor. 12.--{PS..11}Respond timely to emails and telephone messages as appropriate. Communicate issues to management, includingpayer, system or escalated account issues.13.--{PS..12}Ability to perform all other duties as assigned or requested.

  9. --{PS..8}Intermediate knowledge of UB-04 and Explanation of Benefits (EOB)interpretation

  10. --{PS..9}Intermediate knowledge of insurance collections and insuranceterminology
