Community Health Systems Manager - Collections (A/R) in Sarasota, Florida

Description:

Summary: Responsible for managing patient account staff in processing accounts and working with designated payors to ensure proper reimbursement, maximize cash flow, and reduce aging accounts receivable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Ensures compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

  2. Maintains a thorough understanding of health insurance and government programs, where necessary.

  3. Facilitates the identification of issues and solutions by team members related to delays in achieving payment resolution.

  4. Monitors collection processes to determine cash flow improvement opportunities.

  5. Manages the aging of accounts receivable by trending and analyzing the A/R, and through communication with the payors.

  6. Works with Collections Supervisor to identify department training needs for system education, industry updates and changes in collection processes and protocols.

  7. Works with Collections Supervisors and staff to ensure that employee productivity and quality meets standards.

  8. Manages workflow, employee productivity, and collection efforts for assigned team

  9. Ability to perform all other duties as assigned or requested

  9. Advanced knowledge of UB-04 and Explanation of Benefits (EOB)interpretation

  11. Advanced knowledge of healthcare accounts receivable

Education/Experience:

· Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) from four-year college or University.In addition, Master s degree (M.S. or M.A.) and/or six to eight years relatedexperience.
