Community Health Systems Environmental Services Worker II / 80 hrs per pay / Afternoon shift w/ Rotation in Scranton, Pennsylvania
Cleans and maintains buildings/facilities. May be expected to make basic repairs. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager.
Competently operates various types of cleaning equipment, both mechanical and electrical (for example: buffers, wringers, scrubbers, vacuums).
Routinely collects hazardous waste as established by Infection Control Committee; transports infectious waste in a special closed container to the waste garage for sterilization before disposal. Segregates Regulated Medical Waste by disposal type, and boxes waste that cannot be destroyed on site.
Collects HIPPA (Confidential Documents) when assigned.
Demonstrates responsibility for maintaining floors by sweeping, mopping, and applying floor finishes and polishing; strips floors, as required.
Demonstrates responsibility for maintaining the upkeep of carpeting and upholstered furniture by vacuuming and extracting.
Demonstrates responsibility for arranging and moving furniture as requested.
Arranges furniture for meeting setups per the weekly setup calendar
Demonstrates responsibility for removal of soiled linen and storage of soiled linen products as needed.
Delivers Clean Linen Exchange Carts and bulk clean linen as requested.
Returns unused supplies to the utility room; leaves soiled linens and trash in designated areas; and thoroughly cleans cart and equipment.
Demonstrates thoroughness in cleaning assigned areas by washing furnishings, floors and equipment with approved cleaning solutions/disinfectants to prevent the spread of disease.
Thoroughly washes walls, ceilings, and inside windows, using approved solutions
May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
