Summary: Responsible for compliance with overall nursing practice standards of the specialty area; reports to Department Director. Responsible for compliance with standards during assigned shift; reports to House Supervisor or Department Director. Uses established principles of delegation and supervision to direct the activities of all licensed and non-licensed care givers and support staff in the delivery of patient care during their assigned shift Uses independent judgment to ensure optimal delivery of patient care and appropriate use of available resources.
Education: ADN or Diploma in Nursing program required. BSN preferred.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in specialty area preferred . One (1) year in supervisory capacity preferred.
Skills: Interview others; Team facilitation & meeting skills.
Licenses/Certifications: Required: Current Arizona RN license or compact state license and American Heart Association (AHA) BLS.
ACLS (AHA) for: ACT, Ambulatory Svcs, Cardiac Rehab, Cat Scan, Cath Lab, COU, ED, GI, ICU, Nursing Admin (Float Pool), PACU, Telemetry, Urgent Care.
PALS (AHA) or ENPC for: ED.
PALS (AHA) for: PACU, Urgent Care.
NRP for: Women's Center.
(All new graduate nurses or nurses new to specialty area have 180 days in which to obtain ACLS, PALS or NRP, as required by unit).
