Community Health Systems 161-001 Outpatient Radiology Coordinator- Radiology - Full-Time - Days - REPLACEMENT in Tucson, Arizona
Summary: Performs Clinical support for the outpatient radiology procedures. Registers outpatients imaging procedures and coordinates activities for all modalities. Works in conjunction with patient access staff to assist in upfront collections. Coordinates activities with laboratory as required. Assists with data collection for performance improvement and peer review requirements. Reports to Radiology Supervisor. Meets and greets patients who arrive for scheduled and non-scheduled outpatient procedures, communicate and serve as patient liaison throughout visit. Obtains required information (such as physician's orders, prior reports, etc.) to complete requested procedures and maintain related documents. Ensures that patients have physician orders on file for next day appointments. Obtains valid physician orders for all exams.
Applies SAFE tools as a daily work function, including being able to cite SAFE tools and provide examples of application.
Performs in manner to achieve identified quality goals, adhering to best practices and standards identified in our education and processes.
Exhibits knowledge of and follows all organization and department policies. Examples include but are not limited to HIPAA, attendance, etc.
Fully completes tasks in a well thought out manner, delivering the required work volume ensuring that work is not unnecessarily left for someone else to complete.
Performs job duties with expected level of supervision.
Takes ownership of knowing and applying all department communications, including but not limited to emails, meeting minutes and posted notices.
Exhibits knowledge of and applies Community Cares tools such as Community Cares Handbook, AIDET and Empathy model in daily interactions.
Enhances the patient and customer experience through timely and skillful interactions resulting in achievement of identified metrics such as HCAHPS results, patient complaint reduction, etc.
Achieves effective relationships with co-workers and internal customers through timely and constructive interactions, resulting in achievement of identified metrics such as employee and physician satisfaction scores, complaint reduction, etc.
Education: High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
Experience: One (1) year of experience in medical imaging. One (1) year of procedure scheduling and registration preferred.
Skills: Administrative: Ability to work closely with other departments, answer phones, register imaging outpatients, establish and maintain record systems, input data, computer literate and research information. Must have strong analytical and organizational skills, be able to multitask. Machines: Fax, multiline telephone, photocopier and PC skills, digitizer, PAC, duplication equipment. Other: Strong customer service and communication skills. Medical terminology preferred.
Licenses/Certifications: Preferred: BLS certification
