Community Health Systems Registered Nurse Rehab- Full Time in Victoria, Texas
Provides direct patient care including treatments,activities, nourishment, drugs, and parenteral therapy in a safe and competentmanner to the medical, cardiac or surgical patient. Carries out physician orders to insurepatient care is complete. Abides bypolicy and procedure of hospital and established routines to assure qualitycare is provided. Gives patientassignments and supervises care of others when in charge.
Completion of a college or hospital based school ofnursing.
Orientation and training will be provided that isspecific to unit until able to function independently and demonstratesproficiency in basic skills such as FIM scoring, Mandatory Eights, continuum ofcare with therapies.
Current Texas Licensure to practice professional nursing.
Current BCLS certification or obtained during the firstweek of orientation.
FIM scoring certification.
Completion of Mandatory Eights.
Knowledgeable in basic nursing skills.
Proficient in drug types, interactions and referencematerials.
Knowledgeable to give medications and perform duties of aRN.
Specific knowledge of medical terminology to be able tounderstand and carry out physician orders.
Specific knowledge of the basic principles of the nursingfield and their applications to be able to understand and carry out the dutiesof a staff nurse.
General knowledge of arithmetic, spelling, and grammar tobe able to do drug calculations and properly document patient care.
Specific knowledge of nursing principles and patient careprocedures in order to communicate properly with patients, staff, andphysicians.
General knowledge ensures physician orders are carriedout effectively.
General proper body mechanics.
