We are currently recruiting for a Sterile Processing Technician to join our team in our Sterile Processing Department. This role will be responsible to ValleyCare Health System of Ohio for supporting the corporate mission, vision and values. This position is responsible to ValleyCare Health System for supporting the corporate mission, vision and values. The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible to the Sterile Processing Department for supporting the philosophy and providing high quality, comprehensive patient care. The position is responsible to the customer for courteous, accurate, timely service.
Applicants must possess a high school graduate or GED and have completed a college or technical training program in Surgical Technology or Central Services. Previous experience as a scrub tech, or Central Service technician required. Requires up to two year s experience on this or related jobs in a hospital or healthcare facility to develop the judgment necessary to make appropriate decisions. Requires one or more years experience on a similar job. After orientation, up to twelve month s experience on this job is required to perform essential functions and to handle emergency situations. A Certification in CRCST by IAHCSMM or CBSPD is required or obtained within one year of acceptance of the position. The candidate must have a broad knowledge in professional areas and in medic device processing. Knowledge of regulatory, legislative and JCAHO standards related to medical device processing. Applicants must have the ability to read and follow simple verbal or written instructions, and write legibly. Must also have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
