About the area:

As a member of the Hospital's senior management team, theChief Financial Officer (CFO) will participate in the financial and functionaldecision-making processes necessary for the successful attainment of thehospital's mission in addition to maintaining an awareness of changes inhealthcare matters that could have an impact on the success of the hospital.


  • Overall financial operations of the acute-care facilityincluding accounting, budgetary, audits, tax and other financial planningactivities within the hospital organization; including management of respectivedepartment heads.

  • Working with system management to develop and implementpolicies and procedures, short- and long-range goals, objectives and plans.

  • Providing financial leadership to hospital managers,directors and officers that will enroll support, create ownership of goals, andencourage active participate in decisions that impact the hospital.

  • Ensuring the hospital meets necessary financial regulatory andcompliance requirements.

  • Contributing financial expertise in the planning of newservices that generate additional sources of profitable revenue.

  • Managing costs by continually seeking data that willidentify opportunities and take action to eliminate non-value costs inconjunction with the hospital's Chief Executive Officer and Chief NursingOfficer.

  • Analyzing areas in planning, promoting and conductingorganization-wide performance improvement activities.

  • Representing the hospital at meetings including medicalstaff, hospital board of director meetings as well as relevant communitymeetings as needed.

  • Participating in the hospital's monthly operation reviews aswell as participating in corporate office meetings as deemed necessary.

  • Responsible for the administrative aspects of leading thedepartment/team to include budgeting, time approvals, staff evaluations andexpense approvals.



  • Ability to establish and maintain effective workingrelationships with hospital staff and community.

  • Demonstrated ability to cope with and manage change,maintain relationships with emotional maturity and self motivation.

  • Experience to include strategic oversight with an emphasison financial reporting analysis and cash flow management;

  • Revenue cycle knowledge and problem solving skills.

  • Public relations abilities.

  • Excellent verbal and listening skills.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective workingrelationships with hospital staff and community.

  • Ability to maintain confidential information concerningpersonal, financial or medical matters.

  • Responsible for the administrative aspects of leading thedepartment/ team to include budgeting, time approvals, staff evaluations andexpense approvals.


  • Previous CFO level or equivalent experience within an acutecare environment required.

  • Previous experience with a proprietary healthcare systemhighly preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years financial/accounting progressive managerialexperience in acute-care environment.

  • Must be proficient in written and verbal communicationskills.

  • CPA preferred.
