Community Health Systems Neuroscience Tech II- PRN in Birmingham, Alabama
Performs more complex neurological tests in laboratory and operating room environments under minimal supervision and according to established department policies and standards. Assembles necessary equipment, checks for proper functioning, performs prescribed tests and documents results as required. Oversees and directs work of lower classified personnel and assists in training and orientation of Neuroscience Technicians as required.
Requires knowledge of EEG, Evoked Potentials and Nerve Conduction Study procedures and principles as well as operation and maintenance of basic neurological testing equipment as normally acquired through completion of one to two years of post high school training in an approved program in Electropneurodiagnostic Technology.
Approximately six to twelve months progressively more responsible related work experience in order to gain a complete understanding of neurological testing principles and procedures, provide assistance in the resolution of difficult work related problems, orient and train new employees, and provide technical advice on performing tests. Analytical ability necessary to review and evaluate various neurological test results, provide technical advice on performing test, and properly operate neurological test equipment.
