Community Health Systems Registered Respiratory Therapist - PRN Nights in Birmingham, Alabama


The Registered RespiratoryTherapist (RRT) performs basic and intermediate and complex respiratory care procedures to acute care and critical care patients based on patient assessment and physician orders in accordance with standards, policies and procedures. RRT performs under minimal supervision. RRT accepts and transcribes verbal and telephone orders from a physician. RRTensures effectiveness of therapies through routine patient assessments and written consults. Oversees and directs work of lower classified respiratory personnel and assists in training and orientation of new respiratory staff and students.



This position requires Alabama Society Board of Respiratory Therapy licensure – evidence of the individual s (State) license is acceptable to demonstrate their academic achievement.

All applicants are required to submit an official transcript or diploma verifying their level of education at the time of their interview.


1 year to less than 2 years required.


Current license from Alabama Society Board of Respiratory Therapy.

Certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)

Basic LifeSupport (BLS)

Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP).
