Community Health Systems PRN/Registry Speech Language Pathologist in Blue Island, Illinois


The Speech/Language Pathologist plans, organizes, develops, administers and directs communication and swallowing services to patients - newborn through geriatric - in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, regulations and guidelines, to assure that the highest quality of care is rendered at all times. Patient care will account for 100 of the responsibilities. The therapist will participate in, or initiate development of education or community programs to further enhance fellow staff, their profession and the hospital. This staff member functions as an integral member of the Rehabilitation Services Division.



Masters of Science or Master of Arts degree from a graduate Speech Pathology program accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Currently holds or is eligible for the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Those working in Pediatric Therapy must have evidence of advanced training in pediatric skills.


Previous experience in the hospital setting preferred.


Current BLS certification required. BLS certification must remain current throughout employment.Illinois Licensure in Speech Pathology required.
