Community Health Systems Secretarial Partner - 5 East/Clinical Decision Unit/Observation Unit (INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY) in Blue Island, Illinois
The Secretarial Partner is accountable to demonstrate and continue to develop proficiency in the knowledge and ability to perform specific technical skills that support patient care delivery, including secretarial, clerical, data entry, reception, and communications. The Secretarial Partner, under the direction and supervision of the RN, transcribes physician orders. The Secretarial Partner uses several different computer programs to enter orders, enter data, print reports and custom documents, order supplies, and send messages. The Secretarial Partner maintains the patient's Medical Record, labeling and inserting forms and filing reports correctly. The Secretarial Partner maintains a clean environment in the desk area and stocks paper, forms and office supplies for use by all team members; assists with a limited scope of patient care needs, basic patient hospitality needs, and transport of patient as directed by the RN. The secretarial partner is responsible for e-mailing and/or printing the patient s transition of care record to the patient s primary care physician.
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Previous experience as a secretarial partner/unit secretary in the hospital setting preferred.
Current BLS certification required. BLS certification must remain current throughout employment. CPI certification strongly preferred; CPI certification required and must remain current no later than 12/31/2019.
