Community Health Systems Education Manager/Patient Financial Services in Brentwood, Tennessee



This position is responsible for training and documentationof Quorum Health corporate and hospital employees on PFS policies andprocedures and Patient Accounting system applications.

  • Update and create all Patient Financial Services policiesand procedures.

  • Update/Maintain the Patient Financial Services intranet sitewith all revised documents, conference calls and any other necessary PFScommunication.

  • Develop and maintain a training database to be implementedthroughout the hospitals and PFS.

  • Develop Advanced Learning Center lessons.

  • Develop and maintain a training program both at thecorporate level and hospital level.

  • Schedule and coordinate monthly training conference calls.

  • Train new hospital acquisition staff on standard practices,policies and procedures.

  • Train hospital staff or corporate staff on all Medhost orEpic applications.

  • Train newly converted Medhost or Epic hospitals on any PFSfunction. This will include but is not limited to Charge Estimator, Payor logs,Insurance Eligibility .

  • Prepare presentations for any company wide meetings.

  • Work with all Quorum Health internal departments on any PFStraining.

  • Work with the corporate compliance team on allFSA s(Facility Self Audits)administeredto the hospitals.

  • Distribute Federal Poverty Guidelines to all hospitals andupdate the PFS intranet site (updated Jan. or Feb. each year).

  • Distribute Medicare Benefit information to all hospitals andupdate the PFS intranet site (updated Nov. each year).

  • Identification and collection of information pertaining tosystem utilization.

  • Assist with review or setup of table files in Medhost orEpic system.

  • Assist VP of PFS with any other projects/audits as assignedor needed.

  • Responsible for the administrative aspects of leading thedepartment/team to include budgeting, time approvals, staff evaluations andexpense approvals.


No direct supervisory responsibilities at this time. Thiscould change in the future with Patient Accounting system changes to Epic.


College degree preferred or 10 plus years in training in ahealthcare setting desired.



  • Knowledge of Medhost, McKesson, Cerner and Epic systems aplus.

  • Proficient computer skills including all Microsoft Officefunctions.

  • Minimum of 10 years working in a hospital business officeenvironment preferred.

  • Must possess very strong written, verbal and listeningcommunication skills.

  • Strong presentation and public speaking abilities.

  • Excellent inter-personal skills.

  • Experience with web training is a plus.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitiveinformation.
