Department Overview

The OR is a 6-bed unitplus a 3-bed endoscopy suite offering a full range of surgical and endoscopyprocedures, including orthopedic, urology, plastics, gynecology, podiatry,ortho/spine, vascular, pain and general surgery. Our highly skilled team ofhealthcare professionals is dedicated to keeping our patients and their familyhealthy.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Registered Nurse with advanced endoscopy procedures experience (ERCP, Double Balloon, EUS) to provide PRN on-call coverage.

Responsibilities

  • The Endo RN evaluatesassigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care

  • Assists physiciansduring examinations and procedures

  • Performs variouspatient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of theregistered nurse

  • Promotes patients'independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients andfamilies to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills

  • Relies on experienceand judgment to plan and accomplish goals

  • May float withinperioperative services as required

  • May be required tocross-train across multiple specialties on an as needed basis

Qualifications

  • Minimum of anAssociate s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited RN program. Bachelor sDegree in Nursing (BSN) preferred

  • Minimum 1-2 years ofexperience, preferably in an OR unit

  • Experience in endoscopyprocedural areas required

  • Robotic experience aplus

  • Current license topractice as a Registered Nurse in Texas

  • American HeartAssociation (AHA) approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification requiredupon hire

  • Advanced Cardiac LifeSupport (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 90days

  • Team player with astrong commitment to providing superior patient care

  • Must be flexible withhigh energy and desire to learn and grow

  • Ability to be on-call,including nights, weekends and holidays
