Community Health Systems Speech Pathologist in Clarksville, Tennessee


The Speech and Language Pathologist functions under the supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Services and assumes responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and provides speech and language therapy evaluations, modalities and treatments inaccordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures,maintaining the highest degree of quality patient care. The Speech and Language Pathologist may be assigned to orient staff and students. The Speech and Language Pathologist accurately assesses patients needs; identifies and initiates appropriate speech and language therapy interventions; provides patient and family teaching; works cooperatively with other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional speech and language therapy practice and interdisciplinary teamwork.


Education / License /Certification:

  • Education: Minimum of Master s degree in Communication Disorders is required·

  • Current licensure in Speech and Language Pathology in the State of Tennessee

  • Certified by ASHA for Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech/LanguagePathology or be in the Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) working toward the CCC

  • Current Basic Life Support/CPR Card

Experience / Skills :

· Oneyear of experience in the care of patients in an acute hospital, outpatient, oracute rehab setting is preferred
