Community Health Systems CNA - ORTHO - PRN - DAYS in Crystal River, Florida
Performs non-professional nursing tasks in the care and comfort of primarily adult and geriatric patients with acute and chronic illness. Interacts and collaborates with staff, physicians, and patients regarding our programs for the reduction of Hospital Acquired Conditions (HACs) and Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs). Actively engages in all initiatives to improve patient satisfaction results. Completes tasks as assigned by the RN . Performs specific treatments/procedures under the direction of the LPN/RN. Maintains clean and orderly patient care areas, equipment, and supplies. Restock inventories and supplies to keep supplies readily available. May be needed to work beyond the regular tour of duty or in another patient care unit as assigned by department head or nursing supervisor.
CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designated to project a positive image of the department and the hospital. Works with supervisor/manager and other members of unit or department to promote a harmonious work environment. Ensures that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other hospital personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner. Answers telephone in a prompt and courteous manner. Provides assistance, explains procedures and exhibits concern, as appropriate, to callers or in face-to-face situations. Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of the hospital s Standards of Conduct and of our external and internal customers. Works with customers to identify problem areas and recommend solutions.
Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education: Post high school vocational coursework or specialized medical training as CNA, EMT, PCA, Unit Secretary, Student Nurse or Certified Phlebotomist.
Preferred Experience : One (1) year experience in an acute care setting
Required Certification: Nursing Assistant certificate or student currently enrolled in a nursing program who has completed the Nursing I course; BLS certification.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language. Visual and hearing senses must be adequate to assess/detect changes in human physiological condition. Ability to perform effectively in fast paced, stressful environment.
