Community Health Systems Building Maintenance Technician in Fort Smith, Arkansas


JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, performs maintenance and preventive maintenance on all parts of the buildings and equipment including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, electronics, steam, med gas, fire alarms and fire control systems not requiring the attention of a specialist in that area. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE: Must have at least two (2) years experience in general building maintenance and repair.


PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Must at times work in temperatures ranging from below zero to 140 o F. For extended periods, must routinely bend, stoop, squat, lift and manipulate up to 50 pounds, push, pull, stand, walk, climb and use hand and power tools. May be exposed to various stored energy, some of which could be lethal, such as electrical, mechanical, steam and air. May be exposed to hazards such as chemicals, acids and gases, with protective measures provided. May occasionally work in a noisy environment.
