Community Health Systems Surgical Tech - Certified (Ambulatory Surgery)- Part-time, 24 hrs. per week in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Description:

Under the immediate direction of Surgical Services Specialist, prepares the surgical suite and patient for surgery and assists the team during the procedure.

Qualifications

Licensure: Must obtain and maintain certification in Basic Life Support (CPR) within 60 days of hire.

Experience: Minimum of two years surgical tech experience desired.

Education: High School diploma or its equivalent, graduate of or proof of completion of a surgical technology program.

*For graduates after July 1, 2009, certification exam must be attempted within three (3) months of employment. Surgical Technician will have up to six (6) months after hire to successfully pass certification exam or must have achieved certification within 12 months of graduation or forfeit employment.

Other:

Demonstrates working knowledge of hospital service theme.

Requires a thorough knowledge of sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques.

Demonstrates general knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments and suppliesutilized in order to prepare operating suite/treatment room for surgery and assistmedical team throughout the procedure.

Requires general working knowledge of the normal growth, development, related behaviors, needs, comfort, and range of treatment appropriate to the age (including pediatric, adolescent, adult & geriatric).

Demonstrates well developed interpersonal and communication skills necessary tointeract effectively with all internal and external customers.
