Community Health Systems Behavioral Health Therapist - FT in Granite City, Illinois


Provides therapy services for patients and families receiving services in the acute inpatient setting. All services are provided with an understanding and knowledge of the developmental needs of the patients and families. Therapy services include, but are not limited to, individual, family, couples, group work, and psychological testing. The primary treatment modality is congruent with the length of stay requiring brief cognitive-behavioral interventions and an ability to provide crisis intervention. Therapists are responsible for managing the patient s care inclusive of the following components: Psychosocial Assessment and ongoing re-assessment of the patient, facilitating multidisciplinary treatment planning, and coordinating discharge/continued care planning.


Education: Minimum of a Master s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, psychiatric nursing or related field.

Experience: Demonstrate an understanding of and an appreciation for the physical, social and psychological needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Previous acute behavioral health treatment experience preferred.

Licenses/Certificates: Must be eligible for Illinois state clinical licensure in field of training. Must have American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support certification upon hire. Must have current certification in Crisis Prevention (CPI) or complete within 30 days of hire. Must obtain upon hire and maintain ongoing competency in restraint, seclusion and take downs.
