Description:
Operates equipment in the production of radiographic images in accordance with department protocols. Administers radiopaque material for enhance examinations under the supervision of a radiologist. Promotes a safe environment by using protective devices and practices. The technologist must be attentive to patient needs during examinations and take appropriate action if necessary. Independent problem solving in the performance of duties with limited supervision.
Qualifications
Education: Minimum education required: Graduate of an AMA approved radiological technologist program.
Experience: Requires one to two years experience in diagnostic radiology, but will accept a new graduate.
Licenses/Certificates: Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and be licensed by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA). Must possess current card from the American Heart Association for Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
