Community Health Systems Sleep Lab Tech-PRN in Granite City, Illinois
The Sleep Disorders Center Technician performs patient testing for adult and geriatric age groups per physician orders. As part of the testing process, the technician will gather a patient's medical history, explain testing procedures, and prepare the patient for the procedure. During testing, the Sleep Disorders Center Technician monitors the patient's status and notes any abnormalities. After testing is complete, they tabulate and report their findings to the patient's doctor for further analysis. The ability to assess and initiate emergency procedures is required. An Sleep Technician collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery to achieve desired patient outcomes. Performs other duties as required.
Education: Registered Polysomnographer (RPSGT) or Registered Sleep Technician (RST) required. Licensed Respiratory Therapist preferred.
Experience: Prior Experience as a Sleep Center technician preferred.
Licenses/Certifications: Registered Polysomnographer (RPSGT) or Registered Sleep Technician (RST) required. Must possess current card from the American Heart Association for Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
