The Certified NursingAssistant provides direct patient care under the supervision of a RegisteredNurse to adult and geriatric patients.

Qualifications

Education:

  1. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

  2. CPR class completion with passing grade (may be completed within 3 months of hire date).

Experience:

  1. Desirable characteristics include at least two years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment.

  2. Must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to department standards when no directions are given.

  3. Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress.

Licenses/Certificates:

  1. Currently registered as a Certified Nurse Assistant in South Carolina; must be current in the Nurse Aide Registry.

  2. Must have a current BLS certification.

Skills/Abilities:

  1. Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers.

  2. Ability to answer multi-line telephones and relay accurate messages.

  3. Maintain logs and patient charts.

  4. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks at one time.

  5. Exceptional customer service skills.

  6. Ability to input and retrieve information from the computer.

  7. Demonstrates professional attitude and dress.
