Community Health Systems Registered Nurse - Women's Services - 90% Nights in Lancaster, South Carolina


  1. Undergeneral supervision, provides professional nursing care to patients of all agesthrough the use of the nursing process and through promotion, maintenance andteaching. Responsible for compliancewith overall nursing practice standards of the specialty area (Reports toDepartment Director) Notifies the Director of any problems in the unit. Takes charge of unit as needed (withappropriate competency). May beassigned on call to provide appropriate staff coverage. Floats to other nursing units assigned. Is responsible for getting to work forscheduled shifts in the event of inclement weather.

  2. Responsiblefor compliance with standards during assigned shift (Reports to HouseSupervisor)

  3. Usesestablished principles of delegation and supervision to direct the activitiesof all licensed and non-licensed care givers and support staff in the deliveryof patient care during their assigned shift

  4. Usesindependent judgment to ensure optimal delivery of patient care and appropriateuse of available resources


E ducation :

  1. Successfulcompletion of the initial SMH medication examination with a score of 90 orgreater (if applies)

  2. Graduate of anaccredited School of Professional Nursing.

  3. Completes annual orientation.


  1. Must be able todemonstrate knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age ofpatients served.

  2. Must demonstrateknowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span andpossess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient s status andinterpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient s requirementrelative to the patient s needs and to provide care needed as described to inpolicies and procedures.


  1. Current NursingLicense to be able to practice in the state of South Carolina

  2. Current CPRcertification required.

  3. Current ACLS required
