Community Health Systems Sup Pharmacy Tech in Laredo, Texas
Directly responsible for the management of Pharmacy Technicians including, but not limited to, hiring, orientation, performance appraisals, promotions, disciplinary actions, vacation schedules, and maintaining payroll records and time reports. Plans and schedules work for the Pharmacy Technicians, ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate manning, space and facilities for subsequent performance of duties. Trains new personnel. Conducts technician meetings to assure staff are appropriately briefed on departmental and health system updates and communications. Manages daily operations of technician-related Pharmacy services, including developing, updating, and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all technician duties. Problem-solve patient complaints and complex medication-related issues with communication/follow-up with department heads and administration. Ensures adequate resources to meet needs of patients and staff. Manages pharmaceutical supply inventories and responsible for all pharmaceutical supply ordering. Processes all drug, equipment and supply orders and returns. Communicates with vendors including wholesaler, pharmaceutical and supply companies, etc. Oversees cost containment activities related to pharmaceuticals (product substitution, price increases, etc.). Supervises drug distribution to clinics and satellite centers. (e.g. floorstock, immunizations).
High school diploma and completion of a certified pharmacy technician training program is required. Associates or Bachelor s degree in a healthcare or business-related field strongly preferred. Five years of experience as a pharmacy technician, including at least one year of experience in a Pharmacy leadership role, is required.
