Community Health Systems Monitor Tech - Part-time, night shift in Lewisburg, West Virginia
Examines heartbeat patterns on electrocardiograph monitors. Responsible for cardiac monitor observation and reporting of cardiac rhythm changes to the nursing staff for further investigation when indicated. Makes note of irregular rhythms and monitors changes in heartbeat. Ensures that monitors are functioning properly. The Monitor Technician functions under the direction of the professional nurse. They will demonstrate knowledge appropriate to the age of the patients served. Demonstration of knowledge will include principles of growth and development and interpretation of information and data to identify the patient s age-specific needs. The Monitor Tech coordinates clerical activities with those of other professional, general, and supportive systems. The Monitor Tech acts as the focal point of communication on the nursing unit. Performs other duties incidental to the work described herein.

High School Graduate or GED certificate
Must posses communication/writing skill, physical/emotion stamina
EMT and/or equivalent acute care, clinical experience preferred. GVMC will provide a basic arrhythmia course; successful completion of this course is required.
BLS certification is preferred.
