Community Health Systems Medical Technologist Blood Bank Lead in Lufkin, Texas
Performs manual and automated routine transfusion tests. Prepares specimens for microscope examination. Operates laboratory equipment including centrifuges, dry bath incubators, and blood bank refrigerators. Responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising all section functions including training, maintaining supplies and ensuring the department meets all regulatory standards set forth by The Joint Commission and AABB. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
Requires graduation from an accredited MT program (preferred) or an accredited MLT program, passing a national exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (or equivalent), and at least 4 years of experience. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
