Community Health Systems Ultrasound and Radiologic Technologist in Mt. Vernon, Illinois


Performs diagnostic sonographic and radiologic examinations utilizing ultrasonic, X-ray and C-arm equipment to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Schedules and coordinates tests, records test results, and prepares and maintains operational logs in multiple modalities. Calibrates and maintains x-ray and ultrasound equipment and orders supplies for departmental function when required. May require registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Requires board certification American Board of Radiology and IEMA licensed. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular fields. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks in radiology and ultrasound. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a chief technologist or director.


Requires a two year allied health degree, successful completion of an approved one-year program in Ultrasound and Radiologic Technology, and at least 2 years of experience in the field.
