Community Health Systems Refund Audit Analyst in Nashville, Tennessee

Description:

Summary: Performs audits on refund requests submitted by internal refund staff for accuracy and completeness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following . Other duties may be assigned.

Objectively reviews and evaluates refund requests from refund analysts within time guidelines

Ability to identify error trends and provide feedback to supervisor

Maintain internal tracking logs for accurate status of refund requests

Develops and coordinates credit balance education and training

Provides audit results to Refunds Analysts

Demonstrates ability to identify issues outside of workflow process and escalates them when necessary

Identifies opportunities for improvement within team as well as refund team

Stays abreast of current policy and procedures related to the refunds and audit processes

Recommends changes to processes as appropriate

Enters posting adjustment into the practice management system according to credit balance protocol

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Preferred: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3 years experience with processing healthcare refunds including knowledge of insurance billing and coordination of benefits; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of general computer applications and practice management systems.
