Pharmacytechnicians are support staff to the pharmacists, clinical pharmacists, andpharmacy director. Pharmacy techniciansassist in drug inventory management, drug selection, emergency drugcompilations, and medication area inspections for maintenance of drug storagerequirements and the integrity of dosage forms. Pharmacy technicians will demonstrate theircompetency in brand-generic concepts, sterile compounding, and bulk dosagerepackaging. Pharmacy technicians willperform routine distributions to medication areas and also participate inquarterly in-services on look-alike-sound-alike medications, proper use ofautomated dispensing machines, inventory removal of expired medications andsupportive medication reconciliation procedures.

Qualifications

  • ·High school diploma or equivalent

  • ·Previous work experience as a pharmacy technician

  • ·Valid Driver's License preferred

  • ·Florida Board of Pharmacy (FBOP) Technician license is required, National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) is optional
