Our Registrars areprimarily responsible for registering patients who present for outpatienttesting, emergency treatment and admission in a professional and courteousmanner to include insurance verification includes but not limited to,initiating authorizations on all hospital outpatient/inpatientadmissions/observation stays. Gathers patient demographic and billinginformation and enters into the computer accurately. Performs all patientcontact pertaining to the collection on patient accounts. Provides financialassistance to patients following the hospital policy. Calculation andcollection of patient financial responsibility.
High School Diploma or its equivalent required
One year of office experience in a medical setting is required.
One year of insurance and authorization experience in relation to hospital and advanced imaging procedures is preferred. Communication skills are a must/plus, incumbent must be able to function effectively under stress. Familiarity with software packages and navigation techniques.
Must be able to work under high stress volumes, multi task, detail oriented and works independently
