Our Registrars are primarilyresponsible for registering patients who present for outpatient testing,emergency treatment and admission in a professional and courteous manner toinclude insurance verification includes but not limited to, initiatingauthorizations on all hospital outpatient/inpatient admissions/observationstays. Gathers patient demographic and billing information and enters into thecomputer accurately. Performs all patient contact pertaining to the collectionon patient accounts. Provides financial assistance to patients following thehospital policy. Calculation and collection of patient financialresponsibility.
High School Diploma or its equivalent required
One year of office experience in a medical setting is required.
One year of insurance and authorization experience in relation to hospital and advanced imaging procedures is preferred. Communication skills are a must/plus, incumbent must be able to function effectively under stress. Familiarity with software packages and navigation techniques.
Must be able to work under high stress volumes, multi task, detail oriented and works independently
