Description:

Receives, collects and records information from patient in order to complete registration and aid billing for physician and hospital services. Ensures accuracy and currency of information collected at time of service. Verifies insurance benefits, collects applicable co-pays and/or deductibles or self-pay portions prior to services being rendered. Enters appropriate charges, CPT and ICD-9 codes to ensure accurate billing. Ensures all information for registration, insurance, coding and billing is complete and accurate at time of service. Promotes patient satisfaction serving as liaison on behalf of physician office and patient.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

Computer Skills

Preferred applicant will:

Have taken a class in or have experience working with medical terminology

Have experience with coding and billing

Possess prior office experience in a healthcare setting
