Under the supervision of the Vice President of Human Resources, plans, directs, coordinates and evaluates tasks and functions of the Laboratory. Selects, evaluates, directs, disciplines and terminates departmental personnel. May consult with Assistant Lab Manager or supervisory staff. Develops and administers annual department budget. Administers quality assurance or performance improvement activities and recommends purchases of equipment. Oversees associated laboratory regulatory and compliance activities in coordination with the VP of HR. Maintains high standard of professional performance. May serve in a consultative role to other laboratory services and laboratory P.O.C.T. providers within McKenzie Willamette Medical Services.
Education/Licensing : Baccalaureate or higher degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Sciences. CLS (ASCP) or MT(ASCP) or higher certification. Educational and experience levels necessary to meet CLIA regulations for General Supervisor for moderate and high complexity laboratory testing and Laboratory Director for moderate complexity testing.
Qualifications/Skills : Five years experience in all phases of laboratory medicine including supervision and management. Must meet all education and experience requirements designated by CLIA for general supervisor of a high complexity laboratory and Director of a moderate complexity laboratory. Organizational skills. Written and verbal communication skills. Compiling and analyzing statistical data. Fiscal management and cost analysis. Working knowledge of laboratory procedures, processes and equipment.
