This position is Full Time, Night shift

The Nursing Tech inthe MedOnc (Oncology) Department provides basic nursing care to Oncologypatients under direct supervision of a licensed nurse.

The Nurse Techprovides personal care assistance to patients including bathing, dressing,eating and transportation, procedures including sterile dressings, bloodglucose testing, collection of specimens and enemas. Prepares patients for scheduled procedures toassist in patient assessment. Monitors clinical condition of patients andreports changes to appropriate personnel. Charts and documents observationsaccording to hospital policy and procedure. Handles and transports patients,specimens, blood products, and medications in a safe and efficient manner.Maintains adequate floor stock as needed for unit/departmental operations.Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/familiesin accordance with hospital standards. Performs other job duties relevant tothe position as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diplomaor equivalent required.

Post High Schoolvocational / specialized trainingpreferred.

Experience:

One (1) yearexperience in hospital or nursing homepreferred.

Preferred candidatewill have prior experience working in a hospital setting.

Skills:

Ability to read,communicate, and document effectively through oral, written, or electronicmeans; excellent customer service skills; ability to prioritize and respondpromptly to a changingworkload.

Required: "BLScertification" American HeartAssociation
