Description:

The Cook preparesand serves high quality nutritious meals in a safe and sanitary manner. Cook duties includes all hot prep and cookingfor department.

Food is prepared andboth served through the Cafeteria to Staff, Physicians and Visitors in additionto meals being delivered to patients' rooms throughout the day.

Follows a menu toprepare and cook meats, fish, poultry, gravies, cereals, soups, vegetables andother foods for service in an institutional setting.

Relies on experienceand judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Performs a varietyof complicated tasks.

May lead and directthe work of others.

Qualifications

Education:

High School / GED orequivalent previous experience in large scale foodpreparation.

Experience:

One (1) yearexperience in institutional foodpreparation.

Skills:

Knowledge of cookingmethods/procedures, including types of preparation and relatedroutines.

Licenses/Certifications:

Required:

Current HealthDepartment Sanitation Certificate or Serve Safe Certificate from a countywithin the state of Arizona or Food Handler Certificate.
