Description:

Verifies andaccurately enters demographic information in the hospital computer system.Verifies and accurately enters insurance information in the hospital computersystem. Responsible for maintaining and completing accurate bed check andmidnight census process. Completes all forms related to the registrationprocess to maintain compliance with hospital and regulatory agencies. InitiatesDES application on all uninsured patients or underinsured patients.

Adheres toeligibility and authorization requirements on all scheduled/registeredpatients. Adheres to notification guidelines for third party payers to preventdenials and to ensure proper billing. Adheres to facility POS Collectionguidelines, which includes but is not limited to proper cashiering proceduresand documentation requirements. Clearly documents activities and actions takenon accounts, which includes but is not limited to registration results,completed forms, copies of insurance cards and ID, eligibility, authorizationcommunications with patients, staff and clinical departments.

Timely, reads andtakes appropriate action with any and all communications received.

Qualifications

Education: High school diplomaor equivalent.

Experience: One (1) year of dataentry and customer service relations required.

One (1) year ofregistration experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Skills:Ability to read andwrite English fluently. Personal computerskills.

Ability to maintaingood customer relations. Ability to explainbasic corporate compliance policies. Problem solving andcommunication skills.
