Community Health Systems Certified Pharmacy Tech- Full Time in Victoria, Texas
This position is responsible for the accurate assistanceof pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care to both in-patients andout-patients. Computer entry andprocessing of patient drug orders; sterile and non-sterile preparations ofliquids and solid dosage forms; care and ordering of supplies and equipment;training of trainees; processing of admittance, discharge and transfer ofpatient drugs; restocking of automated dispensing machines; nursing unitinspections; performing miscellaneous related tasks.
Education: A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. The Texas StateBoard of Pharmacy must license the candidate, which is contingent upon becomingcertified by the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within1 year of employment. The candidate also has to successfully complete thesterile products training curriculum mandated by the Texas State Board ofPharmacy within 6 months of starting employment.
Experience: 2-3years pharmacy technician experience preferred but not required.
Desirable characteristics include aproficiency in written and verbal communications, mathematical calculations,computer literate, possess ability to establish and maintain effective workingrelationship with others; and an ability to perform within time frame withoutloss of accuracy. Must be able to follow directions and to perform workaccording to department standards when no directions are given. Must be able to function effectively understress.
Registration- TexasState Board of Pharmacy within 1 year of employment.
Certification-Sterile Preparation within 6 months of employment.
