Community Health Systems Certified Pharmacy Tech II- Full Time in Victoria, Texas
This position is responsible for the accurate assistanceof pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care to both in-patients andout-patients. Computer entry andprocessing of patient drug orders; sterile and non-sterile preparations ofliquids and solid dosage forms; care and ordering of supplies and equipment;training of trainees; processing of admittance, discharge and transfer ofpatient drugs; restocking of automated dispensing machines; nursing unitinspections; performing miscellaneous related tasks.
Pharmacy Tech II will have expanded job duties thatrequire higher level of skill and professionalism. Along with all of the listedabove Tech I responsibilities, the Tech II will perform compounding ofchemotherapy and other high risk sterile compounds. This employee will beprimarily responsible for wholesaler ordering, physician office ordering,accounts payable and other administrative duties as assigned by PharmacyDirector and Pharmacy Managers.
A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred. Thecandidate must hold a Texas State Board of Pharmacy license. The candidateshould have successfully completed the sterile products training curriculummandated by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy and be ACPE accredited.
Registration- Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
Certification- Sterile Compounding
Experience: 5years of hospital pharmacy technician experience, with at least one year ofchemotherapy compounding experience preferred.
Desirablecharacteristics include a proficiency in written and verbal communications,mathematical calculations, computer literate, possess ability to establish andmaintain effective working relationship with others; and an ability to perform withintime frame without loss of accuracy. Must be able to follow directions and toperform work according to department standards when no directions aregiven. Must be able to functioneffectively under stress.
