Community Health Systems Unit Secretary - Full Time Evening Shifts in Victoria, Texas

Description:

The UnitSecretary is responsible for transcription of orders, completes requisitions,follows through with requests, and charts appropriately as to action and doctorvisits. Acts as unit receptionistresponding positively to call bells, answering phones, greetingpatients/families at the desk and doing Meditech order entry as required byunit worked. Communicates, openly withstaff and other units/departments (radiology, lab, scheduling), housesupervisor/overseer, and physicians offices in regard to scheduling ofappointments and procedures in order to coordinate the continuum of the patient scare. Adheres to policies of thehospital and keeps organization and unity at the nurse s station.

Qualifications

Education:

A highschool diploma or GED preferred.

Completionof a unit secretary training course or medical terminology course preferred

Licenses/Certificates:

BLScertification.

Experience:

Previousreceptionist/secretarial training is desired but not required.

Must possessability to read effectively, write legibly, good spelling ability, typingskills and medical terminology.
