The Vista Physician Group is a professional network which includes family medicine physicians and specialists with 20 offices located throughout Lake County. We are looking for a professional Billing Coordinator for our Grayslake Physician clinic .
Responsible for patient billing services and patient payments. Submit patient claims to third party payers and review patient account payments.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Review patient financial charts and correct errors as necessary.
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of patients/customers served.
Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Use data reflective of the patient/customer s status to identify each patient/customer s requirements relative to his/her specific needs.
Provide the care/service needed as described in the department s policies and procedures.
Process of Payments
Process all payment for the group for insurance companies and patients.
Checks payment with key bank machine or deposit to Waukegan Clinic Corp account.
Tracks payments in Athena billing system using appropriate ICD-9 designation.
Follow-up on patient past dues payments and take appropriate action.
May monitor, collect and adjust patient accounts.
Demonstrate knowledge of third party reimbursement by accurately and timely posting post payment adjustments.
Demonstrate knowledge of third party payer requirements by timely resolving problem account.
Receives all charges from patient seen by physicians in psychiatry, rehabilitation, neurosurgeon, and hospitalist care.
Oversees the weekly and daily collections of accounts including running weekly and daily report.
Obtain additional required billing information as needed.
Demonstrate knowledge of payer requirements by obtaining required information to avoid payment delays.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Associates Degree or some college is preferred.
Requires RHIA, RHIT, CCS and/or CPS, CPC or CCA certification within one year of employment.
Minimum of 2 years experience in inpatient and/ oroutpatient coding or medical records using ICD and CPT coding systems
Advance knowledge of medical terminology
