Community Health Systems Medical Technologist - Laboratory - 0.6 FTE N/W in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania


Perform routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratorytests on all types of blood and body fluid specimens under minimalsupervision. Insures accurate and reliabletest results by adhering to a strict quality control program. Performinstrument function checks and preventative maintenance procedures according todepartment s policies and procedures. Performminor instrument repair as necessary.


Bachelor s degree in achemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medicaltechnology from an accredited institution, or an associate degree in alaboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accreditedinstitution or meet grandfather requirements under CLIA 88 personnelrequirements.

One (1) to two (2) yearspreferred. Precision and accuracy toperform Laboratory procedures. Keenjudgment to evaluate information against measurable criteria in the performanceof tests. Visual acuity to readinstructions and examine specimens. Formperception and color discrimination to identify cells and micro-organisms. Manual dexterity to operate equipment. Assist the Section Supervisor in resolvingequipment problems, oversees the teaching and evaluation of students and newemployees and has expertise with specific Laboratory procedures or Laboratoryinstrumentation.
